SUMMARY:
Over the past 20 years I’ve held positions having to do in some regard with making, creating, or production. I was educated in architecture and trained in construction, but have found I’ve gravitated toward a skillset somewhere between the two. The work I’ve done has varied from inception and creation, to management and the physical act of building a project.
I’ve found the tools I’ve used to do my job are universal, tending to buck any one label, and that design is the best problem-solving tool. Most challenges I’ve encountered in my work have tended to be design problems, and I believe the world is made better through tangible, design-based solutions.
For a long time I’ve viewed architecture as a product with varying degrees of scale and complexity, differing very little from a shoe or piece of furniture. It’s helped me imagine architecture as something that could be held in my hand, making architecture easier to understand. This thought has also helped me to engage in an empathetic way with design, better deducing the ways in which I might inhabit and interact with my own design. I think this thought process really gets at the heart of design as it affects and is affected by the human experience. After all, people really are the point.
beyond this, i love fun and adventure. I love traveling and being curious. I LOVE BIG IDEAS, BEING CREATIVE, AND THE PROCESS OF INVENTION.

Marketing Work: I was often part of the interview team, including marketing prep, production, and the team interview process. At least 60% of my work was marketing focused, specifically in regards to strategy, visualization, and communication of that strategy. Sustainability Lead Work: I led the Howard S. Wright's LEED education training program, was the in office go-to for LEED/ Sustainability focused issues, and helped with the practical application of LEED principles in the real world built environment. Successful efforts included winning of several LEED focused construction projects and the re-education of dozens individuals within the company.

Work: Key work included the master planning, architectural design and marketing for Foris Aqua, a luxury development in Pune, India consisting of vacation villas and a large community center. I had a primary role in the design of 5 of 7 prototype villas, as well as the Foris Aqua Community Center, which provided amenities for the entire development (www.forisaqua.com). Other work consisted of documentation and coordination of tenant infill and lab design for both Pfizer BBC in Mission Bay, and Johnson and Johnson in Fremont, CA. Additional work included BIM modeling and rendering for Abbott Diabetes Care, in Alameda, CA.
