Summary: This was a study of various design concepts for an ADU in the Temescal neighborhood of Oakland. We created a variety of ADU design layouts, complete with systems focused on sustainability. We also considered privacy as much of the backyard would have been used by the ADU.

Iteration 1: A large, and higher quality design. The client requested a reduction in sizing, due to the size impact on the overall lot.

Iteration 2: had three options and was closer to the sizing requested by the client, and significantly reduced construction pricing in order to fit client budget.

To note: green screen, rainwater collection, drilled pier foundations, solar panels, the simple modern and very efficient design.
